SAMOLI CHAAT

Samoli Chaat

Another quicky recipe for chaat lovers..

I have used a traditional Arabic bread called 'Samoli' which looks alot like the French bread. It has a thin crisp, crunchy crust and a slightly chewy center to it, making it perfect for this chaat. So. lets get going...

We'll need
Samoli Bread- 1 pc ( I got the fresh one which was slightly crisp on the outer side), cut 1/2 inch thin round slices.
Potatoes- 1/2 Medium sized, boiled and mashed
Black Gram/White chickpeas- 150 gm boiled and mashed.
Yoghurt- 1 cup whisked
Sugar- 1/2 Tsp
Salt- 1/2 Tsp
Red Chill powder- to garnish
Cumin powder- to sprinkle while garnishing
Cornflakes- to garnish
Onion- 1 medium finely chopped
Peanuts- for garnish
Tamarind Chutney- 2 Tbsp
Green Coriander chutney- 2 Tbsp
Butter- for frying the bread
Green Chillies - 2-3 pcs

Alright let's begin..

First, lets spread some butter on the sliced bread pieces and fry'em till golden brown and crisp.
Secondly, add sugar and salt and a pinch of roasted and crushed cumin/coriander powder to the whisked yoghurt and keep aside.
Then, mix black gram and mashed potatoes, add salt, black pepper, chaat masala, coriander leaves, green chillies..mix'em well!

Assembling

Now, spread out the bread pieces flat on a plate,
Add a tsp of potato mixture on all,
Add the chopped onion on it then spread some yoghurt, tamarind chutney, the green chutney..
Sprinkle some red chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander leaves or corn flakes or roasted peanuts.

And there you go!
You're ready with a perfect home-made chaat that taste just like the street chaat!!
