Shalgam Bhujia/ Spicy Turnip

Shalgam Bhujia


A very quick and healthy vegetable.

You'll need
Shalgam- 1 bowl peeled & cut into small pieces and boiled with a pinch of turmeric powder.
Mustard seeds/ Rai- 1/2 tsp
Onion seeds/ Kalongi- 1/2 tsp
Chilli flakes- 1-2 tsp
Curry leaves/ Kadi patta- 8-10
Green chillies- 2-3(you can add according to your taste)
Garlic- 2-3 finely chopped
Coriander leaves- 1 small bunch
Brown sugar- 1-1/2 tbsp
Tamarind paste- 1-2 tbsp
Salt
Oil

On the stove-
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and wait till it splutters, after which turn off the flame and add all the other dry ingredients like chilli flakes, chopped garlic, curry leaves, onion seeds, green chillies and salt.

Let the dry aroma of the masala's disperse and then add the boiled shalgam, chopped coriander leaves.

Keep on simmer for few minutes and add brown sugar and tamarind paste.

Simmer for 10 minutes and you're ready to Hog! :-D
