TURNIP & PEAS CURRY/ SHALGAMAUR MATAR KI SABZI


Tasty and different and easy to make.. try this recipe to heighten the taste levels of your taste buds..

Here's what you'll need
Turnip- 3 medium cut into cubes
Peas- 1 cup fresh or frozen
Onion- 1 chopped finely
Green Chillies- 3 slit lengthwise
Coriander leaves- 1 small bunch.
Cumin seeds-1tsp
Tomatoes- 4 pureed
Coriander powder- 1tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4tsp
Garam masala- 1/2tsp + 1/2 tsp
Bay leaf- 2
Salt
Oil
On the Stove-
Heat oil, add cumin seeds, let them splutter, than add chopped onions add green chillies, saute them for a while. Turn off the flame.

Add Corainder leaves and mix well, Add this into a mixy wixy add grind.. Keep aside.

In a vessel, heat oil and add bay leaves and the pureed tomatoes. Cover and cook for 5 minutes till you see the red colour getting brighter.. Add the mixture of onion and coriander, turmeric powder and coriander powder and 1/2 tsp garam masala.

Cook for 2 min, add the turnip and peas, add salt to taste.

Cook till tender. Once cooked, add 1/2 tsp of Garam Masala and cover the lid.

Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve hot!! You can make the consistency of the gravy lighter by adding water..or keep it thicker like I did. In both ways it'll taste great..!!
